INTER
HOUSE INDIAN MUSIC COMPETITION
On 12th April’08 All the
students from classes 1 to 10 gathered in the auditorium to take part in the
Indian Music Competition.. In solo the 1st prize was won by
Kapil Tamani (Tagore House) 2nd by Garima Joshi (Shastri House)
and 3rd by Shitij (Bose House). In duet the 1st
position was won by Bose House 2nd by Tagore House and 3r by
Shastri House. In group the 1st position was secured by Bose
House, 2nd by Tagore House and the 3rd by Shastri
House. Among all the houses Tagore house was the winner.

WESTERN MUSIC
COMPETITION
On 19th April, 2008 the Arwachinians
held an inter house western music competition. . In solo the 1st position was
won by Pooja pant of class8, Tilak house, 2nd position by Kartikay of class5, Bose house, 3rd
position by Pratishtha of class8,
Shastri house and the 4th position was won by Ritika Dhama of
class4, Tagor house. In duet the 1st position was won by Ekta
Aggarwal and Vanshika Sirohi of class8, Tagore house.
The 4th position
was won by Aditi of class1 and Garima Joshi of class8, Shastri house. In
group Tilak house stood 1st, Tagore house stood 2nd,
Bose house stood 3rd and Shastri house stood 4th.
2008 KARATE
SEMINAR
On 25th April, 2008 all the
Arwachinians gathered to watch a Karate seminar, organized by TKFI.Many
international Karate fighters participated
in the seminar. . Their main
aim was to tell us the importance of karate
THE VISIT TO A
CINEMA
On 2nd May, 2008 the students of
classes III to X went to watch the film “ Goal” in theatre
Delite. By watching the film the students got to know more about the game
soccer. The moral of this film was that we should keep trying until we
achieve our goal.
DANIK JAGRAN
RAKHI & CARDMAKING COMPETETION
In July all India Rakhi and
Card Making Competition (sponsored by Dainik Jagaran) was held in which
students were supposed to make Rakhi for the soldiers. Our students also
participated in it. Students won certificates for participating. Mudit
Handa of class 3 won the1st prize for card making.
CRICKET SERIES
In the months of June and
July our school played a cricket series with Rockwood
Public School, sect- 33, Noida,
NCR. The first match was on, 15th June; our team was lead by
Aman Jain who was the highest scorer of the day with 65 runs. But
unfortunately Rockwood Public
School won the match by 4 wickets.
The second match was on 22nd
June against Rockwood Public
School. This match was won by our team. We
won by 30 runs. Aman Jain was declared as the Man of the Match. He was the
highest scorer with 95 runs.
The third match was abandoned
due to rain. Arwachin International
School won the match by tossing
the coin. Arwachin International
School won the series by 2-1.
Aman Jain received the trophy for the best batsman. He made 185 runs in all
Judging.
INTER-HOUSE
DEBATE COMPETITION
The inter-house debate
competition for classes 5 to 9 was held on 12th July, 2008. There were four
houses-Tagore, Shastri, Tilak, and Bose. Each house had two participants.
The theme of the debate was “Media does more harm than good”..
Shastri House stood 1st, Tilak 2nd, Tagore 3rd
and Bose House took the last position. Garima Joshi was declared the best
speaker and Radhika Chadha was the 2nd best speaker among all
the speakers.
SPELLWELL
COMPETITION (Class4-9)
On 18th July,
08 the inter house spell well
competition for classes 4-9 was conducted. Tilak house stood 1st
with 205 points, Tagore was 2nd with 195 points, Shastri was 3rd
with 180 points and Bose stood 4th with 175 points.
MATHS OLYMPIAD
On 21st of
July,2008 the Inter House Math Olympiad for classes There were
three rounds in the Olympiad: Question- Answer Round, The Visual Round and the Rapid Fire Round.. Tilak House
took the lead with 115
pointsfollowed closely by Bose House with110 points. Scoring 90 points,
Tagore House stood third while Shastri House with 80 points came fourth.

The Inter
House Dance Competition was held on 24th July, 08 There was a
tie between Bose and Tagore house for the first position, Shastri house was
2nd and 3rd was Tilak house.
HINDI
ELOCUTION COMPETITION
On 26th of July
08, the Arwachians gathered
in the assembly
hall for the
first inter –house
kavita competition
(between classes IV –
IX).. Tilak house came 1st
(1409/1600 Marks), Bose house2nd (1369/1600), Tagore house 3rd (682/1600)
and Shastri house was4th (642/1600).

INTER
HOUSE G.K. QUIZ COMPETITION (Classes 4-8) Ist August
The students of A I S
participated in the inter house G.k quiz competition which was held on 1st
August, 08. Shastri House stood 1st
with 152 points, 2nd was Tagore house with 137 points, 3rd
was Tilak house with 110 points and 4th was Bose house with 108
points.

INTER SCHOOL
DANCE – MUSIC COMPETITION
On 13th of August 2008 students from AIS participated
in an inter-school Dance and Music Competition. The competition was
organized under the aegis of National Children’s Welfare Association
at Shah Auditorium, Mr. Arun Sharma, the Director, was also present on this
occasion.
INDEPENDENCE DAY & RAKSHABANDHAN
Independence Day & Rakshabandhan were celebrated
together in a special assembly on 14th
August. The event sought to instill a sense of patriotism in the students.
The songs and dances presented all marked by a strong sense of love for the
country.

JANMASHTHMI
CELEBRATION
On 23rd August all
the awachinians gathered in the auditorium to celebrate Janmasthmi.The
programmes were aimed at acquainted with the life of Lord Krishna.The
participating children sought to
acquaint their
spectators with the relevance of
Krishnajanmashtami in their lives.
SPELL-WELL
COMPETITION ( Classes I-III)
On 20th
September,08 the Spell-well
competition for classes I-III was held
to help them improve their spellings and writing skills. There were five
rounds: spell the word, see the picture and say the word, choose the
correct word , rapid fire round and the buzzer round. Shastri House with
240 marks stood first. Bose House came second with 220 marks. Both Tagore
House and Tilak House stood third
with 200marks each.
DRAWING AND
PAINTING
On 2nd of October a drawing and painting
competition was held at the old fort in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi.
Students from our school also participated in it. It was a good exposure
for the children.
DUSSHERA
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY
On 4th October the
A I S celebrated Dussehra with full religious fervour and devotion. Hymns
were sung to worship Goddess Durga. Scenes from Ramayan were enacted to instill
a sense of devotion in the students.

K QUIZ COMPETITION ( Classes VII-X)
On 18th October, classes
VII-X held their Inter-house G K
quiz competition. The event had four rounds: Know your Wild, Mixed Bag( Current Affairs) , Audio –visual, and Rapid
Fire round. Tagore House (222) bagged the first position whereas Shastri
House (154) stood second. Bose(141) and Tilak (133) were third and fourth
respectively.
Drama
competition
The Inter-house drama competition was held on 24th of October..
The results were announced as soon as all the houses were
through with their
performances. The results were:
1st-Shastri with 89.5 points
2nd- Tagore with 76 points
3rd-Bose with 75.5 points
4th- Tilak with 68 point
DIWALI
ASSEMBLY
On 25th October 2008, the Arwachinians
celebrated Diwali. All the students gathered in the auditorium to
commemorate the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen years of
exile. The celebration was marked by a strong sense of devotion . The
children fully understood of the relevance of Deepawali in their lives .
On 7th of November
Dance teacher Ms. Sarkar and craft teacher Ms. Shekh went to DAV Brijvihar
for judging the event “ABHIVYAKTI” an inter school competition
which was being held there. It was a great experience as the teachers went
there got to learn a lot from the
event held there.

CHILDREN’S
DAY - 14TH NOVEMBER
2008
Arwachin International school
celebrated children’s day on 14th November with great
pageantry and splendour. . Ms Yuki Ohara was the Chief guest for the
occasion .Our honourable director Mr. Arun
Sharma spoke a few words on the occasion and declared the ceremony
open. The teachers of our school
various programmes for the students.They were all cheered heartily and well
appreciated by the students. Then the students enjoyed themselves in the various stalls put
upfor the day. There were games and
food stalls as well as computer
games. Many students won prizes after winning these games.There was a lucky
draw too. The winner of the lucky draw was Esha of class VI, who won a
beautiful neck piece. There was a
dance floor on which the students and the teachers danced gleefully
and energetically. There was an elephant ride too! Our honourable Principal
Mrs.Swarup spoke a few words while concluding the celebration.
ANNUAL SPORTS
MEET
The annual sports meet was
held on the 21st of November 2008. Classes IV-X gathered in the
ground at 10 am. A speech was delivered by the sports captain Gurpreet
Walia. Mrs. Swarup lighted the lamp. Then, Arpit Singhal, Lakshay Rai, Aman
Jain and Anand Kumar ran with the torch. After that Mrs. Swarup declared
the sports meet open. All the houses marched around the ground and all the
students took the oath. Then the events started. The first event was
karate. The karate students broke tiles using different manoeuvres. Second
was Class VI forming various formations of dupattas. After that, classes
IV-VII boys performed yoga formations. Then, the boys of classes VI to X
danced to the tune of “Bar baar haan”. After that , the races began. The races
included 100m dash, 200m, 400m, 800m(senior boys only), hurdles and relay.
All the participants of he races participated with great enthusiasm. At the
end, Tilak house came 4th with 215 points, Shashtri house came 3rd
with 218 points, Bose house came 2nd with 283 points and Tagore
house was declared the best house in sports with 321 points. Shashtri house
was declared the best house at marching, followed by, Tagore, Tilak and
Bose.
EDUCOMP SMART
CLASSES
Living up to its declared
goal of achieving global standards, Arwachin International School launched
Smart Classes in collaboration with Educomp- an Edeucational content development company- in the month of
November. Prior to it serious preparation and demonstration had taken place
. Due diligence had been done by the Director, the Principal and the
teacher. After finding good merit in the system,the staff gave the project
a go-ahead.
A rigorous training for the
teachers was organized and was attended with full zeal by the teachers
after the school hours.
We are proud to announce that
every class room is now equipped with a Smart Interactive Board, an
Overhead Projector and a stylus- an electronic pen that works with the help
of ultra violet rays.
The Smart Class consists of forty five thousand modules on
various subjects. The system makes learning a real-life experience so that
it lasts in the memory of students. It simulates a virtual laboratory for
students to carry out experiments without actually touching any substance
at all. It makes learning fun so
that students don’t find studies something to look forward to.
PROMETHEAN
INTERACTIVE BOARD
Continuing in the attempt to
keep abreast of the latest technologies and move with the modern and latest
learning solutions, Arwachin International School collaborated with
Promethean Software Company to install an Interactive Board that is
essentially an organizer of
educational content as well as provider of educational modules. It
has six lakh modules on various subjects to facilitate learning by doing.
This system also works like the Interactive Board provided by Educomp. In
its library it contains an array of different academic modules to help
teachers plan their lessons. This planning is aimed at making their
teaching more effective, invigorating and interesting. As with the Educomp board, teaching and learning
situations are simulated without wastage of time , space and material for
smooth learning and teaching experiences.
The programme seeks to make
learning a real living experience. It enables teachers to create lesson
plans that are in keeping with international standards. As member the
school can access its modules on its website.
SPORTS
DAY ‘ O8 (Classes 1-3)
Sports
Day was organized on 25th
November by the P T teachers
,Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and Mrs. Tyagi, for classes 1 – 3 . Mrs. Swarup , our respected principal, graced the occasion by her
presence. The Sports meet was inaugurated with the lighting of the torch
followed by the march past with the
colourfully attired band of
musicians. The ceremonial oath was
taken by the sports captain . A
whole range of programmes like Yoga, Aerobics and a drill were presented by the students. Later they competed against each other
for a number of races. The winners
were finally given away the medals.
There was something in store for the teachers also. They enjoyed the
Musical Chair Competition. Ms. Prasad was
declared the winner. Mrs. Swarup encouraged and blessed everybody. The
Sports Day ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
RECITATION
COMPETITION
On 14th July’08 the children of the Pre-Primary
section had an Inter-House Recitation Competition. There were both-Solo and Group Recitation
Competition. The children were judged on the bases of- Expression,
Articulation, Memory, Presentation, Action and Confidence.
